Ten-year-old Astoria neighborhood institution Fatty’s has closed its doors on Ditmars Boulevard and will move to a bigger location at 45-17 28th Avenue. The new space, which is set to open by February, will still have an outdoor patio, plus an expanded vegetarian menu and (finally) beer on tap, but after ten years at the original location, all the improvements are nonetheless “bittersweet.” Owner Fernando Peña tells DNAinfo, “It’s kind of like a weird breakup.” [DNAinfo]
