
The LA Market and Grill at Sapphire chef Kerry Simon is being treated for multiple system atrophy, a particularly aggressive form of Parkinson’s disease, the Las Vegas Sun reports. The neurodegenerative disorder has no cure, and despite the fact that Simon is on a regimen of potentially disease-modifying drugs and has taken up a rigorous plan of physical therapy, he is still actively managing his restaurant empire. “It is heart-breaking,” business partner Elizabeth Blau says. “Kerry is the kindest, gentlest soul.
