Turns out that the croissant-and-macaron-slinging West Village bakery Mille-feuille will open in the beloved old Big Nick’s space, DNAinfo learns. A staggering 51 years of round-the-clock service came to a teary but bustling end back in July; new owner Olivier Dessyn says he plans to open in March with an expanded bakery menu, fresh baguettes, and maybe some sidewalk seating. The old booths may be gone, but the Big Nick’s fire still burns bright in memory: Perhaps Dessyn could put a Sumo Croissant on the lunch menu as a tribute to Nick Imirziades’s famous Sumo Burger?
