MOFAD’s Roundtable; Cider at New Amsterdam Market

New Amsterdam Market is holding a New York State Cider and Thanksgiving Market on Sunday, November 24 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. The market will feature half a dozen cider producers, as well as Thanksgiving essentials such as turkeys (which will be available for pick up if pre-ordered by November 22, call 316-346-1741) and an assortment of pies. Stella 34 Trattoria, located on the sixth floor of Macy’s Herald Square, is offering two truffle specials: a white-truffle pizza topped with a duck egg for $65 and a black-truffle pizza with a black-truffle béchamel topped with shaved black truffles for $30. [Grub Street]

Hale & Hearty is introducing a chef series: an eight-week run of guest soups from mid-January until mid-March of 2014 made by chefs like Geoffrey Zakarian, Andrew Carmellini, John DeLucie, and Marc Murphy. A portion of the proceeds from each soup sold will be donated to charity. [Grub Street]

• The Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD) will hold its inaugural roundtable on December 5 from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at the CUNY School of Public Health. The discussion, which is co-sponsored by the NYC Food Policy Center at Hunter College and Heritage Radio Network, will be centered around a live debate focused on New York City’s soda regulation.
