Four food purveyors comprise the lineup of vendors at the “Food Box,” a new Queens-focused market in the Falchi Building in Long Island City. Jamestown Properties, which also operates Chelsea Market, owns the building, and while the owner claims he’s not trying to replicate the feel of the West Side shopping destination, with vendors already selling Thai specialties, Texas-style pastries, Caribbean dishes, and Peruvian baked goods, not to mention that artisanal cheese market set to open, it’s unclear what else the company could possibly be doing.
