Narcotics agents say they were able to shut down a barbecue-restaurant owner’s lucrative drug business after intercepting a small amount of heroin that smelled like smoked meat. It seems that the Illinois restaurant proprietor’s cousin, who is the target of an unrelated investigation, had unwittingly delivered the narcotics and a gun — still smelling of barbecue — to an undercover agent. Smokehouse Barbecue owner Terrell Howard was arrested on felony drug charges, including “manufacturing and distributing” marijuana and cocaine, which no doubt at one time informed the restaurant’s catchphrase: “Eatin’ high off the hog.” [Quad-Cities Online]
