Taste of Seaport Festival Returns This Weekend; Antica Pesa Debuts Fall Menu

• From now until the supply runs out, the John Dory Oyster Bar is serving Belon oysters, those larger benthic bivalves from Maine that have a mineral zing and deep briny flavor, for $5 a pop. [Grub Street]

• The annual outdoor family-friendly fall festival of food, drink, and live music, Taste of the Seaport, will take place this Sunday, October 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds go to enrichment programs at the Spruce Street School. Tickets are available here. [Grub Street]

• Alex Strange, formerly the master mixologist at D.C.’s Jack Rose Dining Saloon, is taking over at Los Americanos, and has added some new cocktails to the menu, which features exclusively Latin spirits. Los Americanos will also be hosting a Dias de los Muertos happy-hour special from October 31 through November 3, from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. The special will include $3 tacos (with drinks), $4 beers, $6 glasses of wine, and $8 cocktails. Broadway Bites, a new pop-up culinary market, will launch on Monday, October 28 in Greenley Square. The market will feature more than 25 unique vendors, including Red Hook Lobster Pound, Roberta’s, Bar Suzette, and more. [Grub Street]

Antica Pesa has introduced a new fall menu that marks the most comprehensive change to their offerings since the spot opened last year. The revamped menu includes Cappelli de Cardinale, ravioli with parmigiano and pecorino filling, potato and leek cream, hazelnut pesto, and purple potato chips and Coniglio Ripieno, roasted rabbit stuffed with sausage, and broccoli rabe wrapped in smoked bacon and served with concord grape sauce. PowerHouse on 8th is hosting a tasting on Saturday, November 23 at 4 p.m. to celebrate the release of Einat Admony’s new cookbook, Balaboosta (named for his restaurant of the same name). Melissa Vaughan, author of The New Brooklyn Cookbook, will prepare recipes, and Einat Admony will be signing books. [Grub Street]

• To celebrate their first shipment of Florida Stone Crabs, City Crab is offering a free slice of Key Lime pie to any customer who orders stone crabs. In addition, next week, from October 28 to November 1, all lobsters are half off. [Grub Street]
