Delaware brewery Dogfish Head is partnering with the Grateful Dead to create a pale ale, and they asked fans to suggest one “righteous, off-centered ingredient” to add to the recipe. Deadhead Thomas Butler proposed granola as a complement to the beer’s hops and barley — and because tofu and sprouts just wouldn’t taste right. Dogfish Head is using Oregon-based granola brand Grizzlies in the “American Beauty” beer, which will be available on draft and in bottles across 27 states. You can one-up all the other hippies by recovering from your hangover with Marley Coffee, a new Jamaica-based roaster run by Bob’s son Rohan. [Brewbound via RS]
