Ruth Reichl’s Novel Will Be Out Next Spring

As you may know, former Gourmet editor-in-chief, current Top Chef Masters critic, expert Twitter user, and all-around food-world luminary Ruth Reichl has been working on a new novel called Delicious!. Today, Random House — where Reichl serves as “editor at large” — announced it will publish the book, which should be out in May 2014. The book follows a young woman who finds letters written by a girl during World War II. As Reichl first said way back in 2011, “I’m writing a novel that is very much about food … WWII is a particularly interesting time for food because the food was rationed and it was like a huge social experiment in this country.” [NYT, Earlier]
