Belon Oysters at Louro Tonight; Franny’s Cookbook Signing and Taste Test

• Starting September 25, Pork Slope will offer a “Peel & Eat” special that includes one pound of shrimp along with Andouille sausage, potatoes, corn, and Louisiana-style BBQ sauce. Inspired by a recent trip that Talde took to New Orleans, the special will be available on Wednesdays. [Grub Street]

• In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, micro-chain Bareburger is serving up an all-natural pink milkshake made from organic milk and ice cream throughout October. $3 from the sale of each milkshake will be donated to the cause. [Grub Street]

• Sarah Simmons now really needs to raise money to relocate her culinary salon, City Grit, because the building’s being sold. Her new campaign is set up through City Grit’s website, essentially as a Kickstarter, just without the actual Kickstarter platform. • Attention all oyster fanatics, for tonight only Louro will be serving up very rare Belon oysters from Maine. These wild oysters are $3 each and will be served until Louro’s supply of 150 runs out. [Grub Street]

• As part of Sherryfest NYC, Northern Spy Co. will be hosting a four-course meal complete with eight sherry pairings on October 8. Seating is limited and reservations can be made online. [Grub Street]

The Farm on Adderley will be hosting a dinner in support of Slow Food NYC’s farmer-to-restaurant summit. Ben Flanner from Brooklyn Grange will be in attendance, as well as Jon Wilson from Snug Cove.
