The electronics corporate giant says the pizzeria at 550 Madison Avenue adjacent to the fine-dining restaurant Sòlo is just a litterbug and should be evicted, the New York Times reports. Joseph Allaham, who owns both of the kosher restaurants and the nearby Prime Grill, tells the paper he thinks he is facing eviction because Joseph Chetrit and others, who purchased the building from Sony in the spring for $1.1 billion dollars, just want him out so they can forge ahead with a “hotel-condominium tower with a different retail mix,” not because he’s been a bad tenant. That’s just one of many complicated and ongoing claims and counterclaims between the restaurateur and real-estate investors. Meanwhile, Todd English was reportedly seen touring the spaces a few weeks ago, which is never a good sign, but the chef’s rep says he was just looking to buy a TV. Of course he was. [NYT]
