The recipe testers, food tinkerers, and clear-eyed trend spotters over at Serious Eats have just launched an app-based digital magazine. Issues will be themed, and the first is all about cooking things outdoors with fire, and as such, it includes recipes, an essential-equipment guide, taste tests, and more. The Grilling Issue is now going for $1.99 in the iTunes Newsstand Store; would-be charbroilers need only download the Serious Eats app first. Subsequent issues will cost $2.99 a pop, or $19.99 for a yearlong subscription. [Serious Eats]
