Jeni’s Splendid Makes Ice Cream for DVF; Who Are the Best Food Bloggers Ever?

Mercadito continues its Tacos for Strength fund-raiser benefiting No Kid Hungry’s Share Our Strength. Tasting Table’s New York editor Tressa Eaton is September’s featured participant at Mercadito Grove and Mercadito Avenue B, where her pork-shoulder taco will be offered throughout the month. Four tacos cost $16.50, and 5 percent of sales go to charity. [Grub Street]

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams will be handing out leopard-print ice cream this coming Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. outside the Diane von Furstenberg accessories pop-up by the High Line (440 West 14th Street). In honor of DVF’s leopard-and-paprika handbag, Jeni created the “J-Bar”: Cloverton ice cream (a soft, sweet cheese) swirled with smoked-paprika-pineapple sauce and cocoa nibs, topped with three macadamia-nut “buttons,” and dipped in dark chocolate.
