In addition to the anticipated reopening of Sunny’s, Christopher Miller and Billy Durney are about to start smoking their first regular deliveries of brisket and pork shoulder at Hometown at the corner of Van Brunt and Reed Streets. Up the block, Erin Norris’s Grindhaus is cranking into soft-open mode with chef Zach Barrow in the kitchen, and meanwhile, a brand-new Thai restaurant called Kao Soy has announced itself just a couple of doors down, in a space that was last a check-cashing business.
