Michael Shah’s DelShah Capital has purchased 69 Gansevoort Street for $8.6 million, the Commercial Observer reports. The address was for 23 years home to Florent Morellet’s legendary restaurant Florent and was briefly rebooted as R&L; and then as Gansevoort 69, which opened in 2009 and lasted a year. Meanwhile, King & Grove owner Ed Scheetz announced in a memo that the upscale-hotel company is now the sole owner of the Hotel Chelsea. No plans have been announced for either space, but Scheetz’s memo says “significant enhancements to the way the property is managed” are forthcoming. Last fall, it was reported that the hotel’s owners were in talks with “several food and beverage types” to run the lounge inside the landmarked building.
