One of the nicest things about the now-shuttered Governor was the lovely space: two levels, plenty of greenery, and pleasant views of the kitchen. It was wrecked by five feet of storm surge during Sandy, so it’s great to see that it’s now home to Atrium Dumbo. French-born chef Laurent Kalkotour counts Alain Ducasse and Daniel Boulud as mentors, and he’s making simple dishes like octopus carpaccio, pork belly with peaches, and whiskey-spiked dark chocolate mousse. Jean Georges alum Alexander LaPratt is the beverage director, overseeing a 100-plus wine list, and former PDT staffer Payman Bahmani created the cocktails. Check out a few of the dishes, the space, and the menu, straight ahead.
