Import L’Albero Dei Gelati Opens in Park Slope

In February, Grub Street noticed Lombardy-based gelato shop L’Albero Dei Gelati was renovating the old El Sitio Borinquen space at 341 Fifth Avenue, and now Here’s Park Slope reports that the shop has opened for business. L’Albero’s owners adhere to Slow Food principles, using Natural by Nature milk and a broad roster of local ingredients to make gelato flavors like blueberry and peach in addition to unconventional flavors like blue cheese. Beyond cups and cones, it turns out that L’Albero Dei Gelati also sells a broad assortment of pastries, breads, and salumi. Beer and wine is served on the back patio, doors open at 8 a.m. (nine on weekends) for breakfast, and last call for scoops is just before 11 p.m., seven days a week. [HPS, Earlier]
