The U.K.-based Kyle Books will publish Jamie Deen’s Good Food: Cooking Up a Storm with Delicious, Family-Friendly Recipes on September 17. In addition to 125 new recipes, the book also carries a two-page forward by Paula Deen in which she addresses the importance of family and discusses her career. That, and a decent number of cheery photos of the currently embattled celebrity chef, have been sufficient to fuel a significant number of pre-sales on Amazon and land the independent publisher on the charts. Random House’s plans to publish Paula Deen’s next cookbook in October were abruptly scrapped last month, despite the fact the title had shot to No. 1 on Amazon’s charts. With a foreword by Paula.
