
The television chef and restaurateur won’t be calling his forthcoming restaurant project Bolo after all, Gael Greene reports, but Gato, a name inspired by an auspicious orange tabby that Flay encountered while touring the raw space at 324 Lafayette Street. Reps for Bobby Flay confirm to Grub Street that he and business partner Laurence Kretchmer will open the restaurant, which features cast-iron columns and 22-foot ceilings, in “early 2014,” after architect and designer David Rockwell works his magic.
