Gael Greene reports the sad news on her Insatiable Critic blog that Fourth Wall Restaurants’ Park Avenue Café will close on January 1, 2014. Father-and-son duo Alan and Michael Stillman, who own the flagship Smith & Wollensky, Maloney & Porcelli, Quality Meats, and the Hurricane Club in New York, tell Greene that their seasonally themed restaurant lost its lease. The old-school steak restaurant the Post House will also close, in addition to Park Avenue Café, but the Stillmans plan to reopen the latter restaurant sometime next year. In the meantime, Fourth Wall Restaurants will open an entirely new concept, the 200-seat Quality Italian, later this year at 57 West 57th Street. [Insatiable Critic, Related]
