It’s the summer of innovative ice-cream flavors, and Sam Mason, the former wd~50 pastry chef and founder of Empire Mayonnaise, is leading the frontier. He has collaborated with friends Mohan and Holiday Kumar on OddFellows Ice Cream Co., a Williamsburg shop making small-batch, locally sourced ice cream, sorbet, soda, and cotton candy. Holiday’s cravings for Mason’s salty pretzel ice cream inspired OddFellows, but Mason’s not making wacky pretzel, white miso, or “toast” ice cream just yet. The debut menu includes flavors like chorizo-caramel and cornbread, and the list will change regularly. Take a look at the space and a maple-bacon pecan cone, straight ahead.
