The D.C.-based chef’s upcoming New York restaurant will be called … wait for it … Villard Michel Richard. It’s a reference to nineteenth-century financier Henry Villard, whose residence is a part of the New York Palace hotel. Richard’s restaurant will include a 100-seat French bistro and a 46-seat fine-dining area (“the Gallery”), and there will be a pastry-and-sandwich shop called Pomme Palais. The bakery’s scheduled for August and the restaurant for September, paving the way for splashy fall openings. [Earlier, WP]
