Toshiyuki Kiuchi, owner of Japan’s Kiuchi Brewery and the brains behind the cult Hitachino Nest family of beers, touches down tonight in the City of Brotherly Suds to make two rare appearances. One is a six-course Omakase dinner hosted by Zama Tanaka at his Center City Zama Restaurant. The $80 per person feast (full menu below) will pair Zama’s plates with Kiuchi’s beers. One of the courses will incorporate Hitachino Ginger Ale foam, which is kind of cool. Should the Omakase prove to rich for your blood, Zama’s regular a la carte menu will also be available. And prior to dropping by Zama, Kiuchi will be on hand at newly opened Strangelove’s for happy hour.

Starting at 5 p.m., Strangelove’s will be pouring Hitachino Nest’s White Ale, Ancient Nipponia, Real Ginger Brew, Red Rice Ale, Commemorative Ale 2013, and Commemorative Ale Zymatore 2011. Another brew called Dai Dai Mandarin Fukure Mikan will also be on tap for the first time ever in Philly.

Zama’s Omakase will be available from 5 to 11 p.m. There’s no word on when Kiuchi will arrive at the restaurant.
