• Starbucks will ban smoking outside of its 7,000 company-owned stores on June 1. • Starting Monday, June 3, Manzanilla will be hosting a weekly summer wine event, giving diners the option to pair their choice of wine with the modern cuisine of chef Dani Garcia. While sampling the unique Spanish wines and sherry at Manzanilla, guests are also encouraged to bring their own wine. Reservations can be made by e-mailing Mondays@ManzanillaNYC.com. [Grub Street]

• Laura Maniec’s Corkbuzz Wine Studio will be buzzing with activity this June. Maniec will be leading classes like ‘BBQ pairings,’ ‘Great Wines from New York State,’ and ‘All-American Cheese & Wine Pairings,’ while chef Hayan Yi will be crafting a themed menu to celebrate the Summer of Riesling. Corkbuzz has also extended the deadline for this month’s wine club to June 10. [Grub Street]

• On June 4, the Chocolate Factory will present the eighth annual Taste of LIC at the Gantry Plaza State Park. The event will feature 50 restaurants and 100 local businesses. New York City Council member Jimmy Van Bramer and Speaker Quinn will be present at the event, which will also feature performances by rapper Champagne Jerry and Neal Medlyn. Tickets range from $50 to $500. [Grub Street]

• Former P.J. Clarke’s bartender Doug Quinn, who’s a bit of a New York legend (not to mention a gentleman), will open Hudson Malone this fall. It will serve “the best pork chop you’ve ever had in your life.” [Diner’s Journal/NYT]
