Next Thursday, May 16, Guelaguetza will screen Pedro Jimenez’s Viva Mezcal, a documentary film that delves into the personalities and politics behind the spirit’s production’s past, present, and future, from scientists and mezcaleros to bartenders and distributors. For the occasion, Guelaguetza will have several reputable mezcal brands available, with yet-to-be-announced guest mixologists preparing cocktails, while chef Rodolfo Castellanos of Oaxaca’s El Origen will prepare antojitos from the Mexican state. $45 tickets are limited and available online.
