Chef Jeremy Nolen and the rest of the bunch at Brauhaus Schmitz have been having so much fun rolling out the barrels, slipping into the lederhosen, and wielding the wursts for their annual Oktoberfest celebrations in recent years that they’ve decide they want to do it twice a year. Lo and behold, they’re taking over the entire length of South Street from 8th Street all the way down to Front Street on Saturday for their inaugural Maifest Street Festival. Nolen has more than 500 pounds of bratwurst at the ready, and as you can imagine, a ton of awesome German beers, too. It’s pay-as-you-go, or if you want to splurge, VIP packages, priced at $100 per head, are still available. The fun starts at noon, and goes until 8 p.m.
