Sam Kass, the White House’s assistant chef and senior policy advisor for healthy food initiatives, cooks dinner several nights a week for the president and works with Michelle Obama on her “Let’s Move” campaign. But he’s not invulnerable to sequester-related budget cuts: Kass is among 480 employees whom the White House may furlough. Though he still hasn’t received an official notice, Kass discussed the subject during a meeting with agriculture journalists. The Chicago native has been a part of the White House staff since 2009, and he previously worked at 312 Chicago and trained with Austrian chef Christian Domschitz. [Obama Foodorama via Politico]
