Brendan Hartranft and Leigh Maida, owners of perennial Philly faves Memphis Taproom, Local 44 and Resurrection Ale House, send word this morning that they’re going to finally debut their highly anticipated Strangelove’s on Tuesday, April 23. It’s a grand opening celebration, so the doors won’t actually open until 5 p.m. Regular service begins at 11:30 a.m. the next day. But for that big, first night, they’ll be serving complimentary samples of Executive Chef Paul Martin’s menu, which offers a mix of pub grub standards, and more ambitious fare.
You might recognize the reuben croquettes from Local 44, and the shrimp etouffee, and po’boys from Martin’s stint at Catahoula. Check the full spread here.
The bar will have 18 taps — check the jaw-dropping opening tap list here — plus two barrels on hand pumps. Once the dust settles from the opening, Hartranft and Maida are promising to introduce weekend brunch service.
