Those crazy about crustaceans should have reason to rejoice in May when Luke’s Lobster opens shop at 130 South 17th Street in the former home of Bonte. It’s the first Philly outpost of the lobster roll concern founded by Luke Holden, who worked for years as a Lobsterman in Portland, Maine before opening several of his double-L locations in New York and Washington D.C. Sure Philly’s seen its share of lobster rolls over the years, but these are the real deal. That means no lobster salad, no mayo, no celery, no onions and no other filler. Just huge chunks of fresh lobster stuffed inside authentic, New England style split top buns. The opening’s slated for May 16.
