After a year of planning, the Hamptons-based Italian restaurant Tutto Il Giorno will open its third location, called Tutto Il Giorno Tribeca, this fall at 114 Franklin Street in the old Theater Bar space. “We will try to transport our Hamptons feel to New York,” says chef and partner Maurizio Marfoglia, who is about to hop on the next plane to Naples in order to track down a chef to man the stove. “But the food will definitely be modern Neapolitan.”
The original Tutto Il Giorno opened in 2007 with Scott Conant in the kitchen, and a Southampton branch followed in 2011. Original partner Steve Florio, the former Condé Nast chief, died in 2007. The restaurant restructured, bringing on Marfoglia and Donna Karan’s daughter Gabby Karan De Felice.
The Lombardy native has garnered lots of accolades for his menu, which is seafood-heavy and features a list of homemade pastas, while the restaurant’s dining rooms have been known to attract celebrities: Sarah Jessica Parker, Calvin Klein, and Keith Richards are said to be fans.
The restaurant will open in September.
