
Here’s proof that you can’t keep a good neighborhood joint down: Though more than a year-and-a-half has passed since it was wiped out in a hellacious multi-alarm blaze that sent flames shooting through a half-dozen other businesses on Ridge Avenue, Lucky Star, the popular Chinese restaurant that’s been a constant in the Roxborough Market Square for the past 30 years, is coming back to life. Tina Xie, whose family has owned the operation for the last ten years, tells NewsWorks that she will back in business by the end of May. Fortuitously enough, in the 18 months since the fire, Xie’s been able to keep employees on the payroll and busy working at other businesses her family owns.
