Joyous British children are jumping up and down, singing, “I’ve got a golden ticket,” only to find out they’ve been duped. Traveling salesmen are selling counterfeit Wonka bars to shops and convenience stores, with packaging that reads “five lucky winners will find a golden ticket inside.” All the bars have “winning” tickets, but none have information about how to claim the prize. So what’s the point of the scam? The unknown company could be repackaging cheap chocolate and selling it at a higher price. Nestle doesn’t even sell its Wonka bars in Britain. This is so disappointing. [Orange UK]
