Sad news in the local scene today as a body found at Ocean Beach last week has been identified as 30-year-old Alex Peer, who was an event planner at Dixie. His friend Stephanie Wilson told the Chron that he was a frequent night swimmer, and his clothes and phone were found by a passerby on the beach who responded to her text after Peer failed to show up for work Thursday. The body was found facedown, near Great Highway and Judah, Thursday morning. Wilson said that Peer was a “great swimmer and really loved to get out there” in the Pacific, and would do so after work let out around 10 p.m. [Appeal, Chron]
