There’s been a tremendous amount of rumor and speculation surrounding Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran’s recent acquisition of the former Fish and Rhino Bar space at the corner of 13th and Locust. So far, much of it has proved false. But at the same time, not much has been said about what is, or ultimately will, go on there. Until now. Turney dishes to man about town HughE Dillion about what she has in the works. But what’s revealed appears to only deepen the mystery.

In June she and Safran are going to relocate their Mexican BYOB Lolita to the tiny space (and its adjacent courtyard) on Locust that housed Fish in its final days. But the move is only temporary. Once renovations are complete at the 13th Street property, Lolita will open back up refreshed, and equipped with a liquor license and bar.

What happens to the spot after Lolita goes home, and what’s in the works around the corner in the Rhino space remains up in the air. And surely that will only bring us back to more rumor and speculation.
