The newspaper’s staff wrote an editorial, “Bring Back the Soda Ban,” arguing that an appeals court “must” reinstate Bloomberg’s failed (and flawed) ban. The story cites a study conducted by researchers from the Imperial College of London, who found that drinking a single sugary drink every day puts people at a 22 percent higher risk of being diabetic.
