The empty lot on Houston and Elizabeth Streets was almost home to the awesome hot-dog-slinging Crifmobile. Brian Shebairo, a Crif Dogs partner, planned to set up outdoor tables and chairs, and sell the famous cream-cheese-topped dogs (plus liquor!) out of a truck. But now, after two months spent working on the proposal, the landlord wants to use the space for a pop-up Kenneth Cole-sponsored charity arts event. “It was a kick in the fucking face,” says Shebairo.
