Reps for Post & Beam tell Grub Street that the restaurant’s owner, Brad Johnson, and chef, Govind Armstrong, are teaming up on a project that will replace Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing on Abbot Kinney. Willie Jane is named for Johnson’s first Cabbage Patch doll centenarian aunt from Georgia and will bring a slice of The South to Venice with Armstrong behind the stoves. With a bourbon-centered bar and cocktail menu by Phuong Tran, Armstrong will apparently bring “low country coastal dishes” and family-style big plates to the address, following a reconstruction period by Venice designer Rae Scarton. Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing quietly called it quits on Saturday night.
