Tommy Toy’s Cuisine Chinoise (655 Montgomery Street), the opulently decorated FiDi Chinese restaurant, is closing on March 30, as the Scoop reports. The place was a hotbed of celebrity sightings in the eighties and nineties but has certainly fallen off most people’s radars in recent years. Nonetheless, it still has its devotees. They just celebrated their 27th anniversary in December, and it’s now been five years since founder Tommy Toy passed away. If you want to take one last look, we’d suggest their bargain-basement lunch option: $12.95 for two courses, including a choice of lemongrass chicken or vanilla tiger prawns, and you can get a glass of wine or dessert for $4 more.
