Maybe your seasoning supplies are already filled by Penzey’s or Silver Lake’s Spice Station. Still, the prospect of anything resembling a Moroccan spice bazaar in foot-phobic L.A. is pretty enchanting. The Hollywood Farmers’ Market plans just this starting on April 7 when it debuts a “Spice Alley,” completely dedicated to piquancy. Starting April 7, a set-up of spice and bulk food vendors, as well as restaurants with spicy drinks and dishes will set up each week in EaCa Alley behind Cahuenga, with live music setting the scene for shoppers to pick up smoked salts from Hepp’s, handmade condiments, locally-sourced harissa, teas, preserves, grains, legumes, and seasonings. LAist reports that pre-made edibles from Berlin Currywurst and Velvet Margarita, among other Cahuenga restaurants serving their own spiced fare, will also be offered, with patio seating in abundance and plenty of fellow pedestrians to gawk at.
