Remember the multi-million-dollar identity theft ring through which servers targeted some 265 customers with AmEx black cards, encoded their information, made fake cards with stolen info, and bought more than $1 million in luxury goods to resell on the black market? Yeah, that. Has anyone optioned the rights to the movie yet? Anyway, Brian Torrey, who worked at Smith & Wollensky for nine years, is now facing five years probation and 100 hours of community service for taking part. Considering the ringleaders are both in jail, Torrey should be pleased with his lighter sentence. Maybe he’ll get really lucky and find out Matt Damon’s playing him in the inevitable Ocean’s Fourteen. [Earlier, NYP]
