The Glendale Boulevard rooftop restaurant space that’s been under consideration from Sammy Kahen for four years could face additional delays now that neighbors are paying attention. According to The Eastsider, a nearby resident is concerned that the venue’s request for a live music permit could add additional noise to an already rambunctious street. A neighbor tells the site about the restaurant’s plans, “I’m mostly worried about the sound. Echo Park is true to its name, it echoes. We can hear weird things, the police firing range, bands playing on rooftops and a train every once in a while…I really don’ want a night club with loud music playing all night.” The venue, currently under construction from Spacecraft but with no known tenant, will face the city’s Planning Department this Thursday night in its quest for a beer, wine, and live music permit.
