Port Richmond Pour House, the corner spot at East Cumberland and Weikel streets whose house rules include “If you smoked wet today, don’t ask for shit,” reopens tonight after a lengthy hiatus. Following a botched robbery attempt last November that left one patron seriously wounded from a gunshot to the shoulder, and brought with it more than a lifetime’s worth of headaches and scrutiny, owner John Boswell shut the place down. On his website, he posted “bar’s closed for a few.” That few turned into months. But true to his word, he’s throwing the doors open tonight, and proudly pouring from a new barrel of Victory’s Swing Saison, as well as a just dusted-off vintage keg of Brooklyn Brewery’s Monster Barleywine. Welcome back, and here’s hoping for smoother sailing this time around.
