As we mentioned last week, Padrecito makes its official debut tonight, after a Sunday night soft opening, in the space formerly occupied by Eos at Cole and Carl Streets. It’s a spinoff of Mamacita, and as such it has a concise menu of tacos, enchiladas, chilaquiles, and salads that lean toward the upscale and adventurous end of Mexican cuisine. Items like the goat tacos and carnitas reappear here, and there’s the addition of stuff like duck carnitas chilaquiles with kale, favas, and chipotle mole; and braised bacon tacos with braised greens and smashed pinto beans. Below, see our photos of the 75-seat restaurant, designed by Britt Hull, featuring much Mexican tile, stucco, rustic light fixtures, and reclaimed wood.

You can also check out the cocktail menu here.

Padrecito - 901 Cole Street at Carl - 415-742-5505 -Opening March 12. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Monday service and additional hours to be added later.
