Jesse Hirsch, organizer of the new New Taste Marketplace, writes in that for the upcoming market on Saturday, March 16, demand from artisan food vendors to get in on the game has been particularly high. He ended up with a list of 35, but he says, “I had to turn away a bunch of vendors. I think with the Underground Market ending, there are less and less events to showcase small food artisans.” Featured folks this time include Rascal and Rae (a partnership of two former chefs at Quince and Oliveto), Tango & Stache (from former Bar Bambino chef Joshua Oakley), and Salty Sweet. And, for the first time, the market will feature a beer and wine garden sponsored by Almanac Beer Co. and featuring wine from Bluxome Street Winery. The fun happens from noon to 5 p.m. at St. Gregory’s, 500 DeHaro at Mariposa.
