Caffe Venezia
The big space at 1799 University Avenue in Berkeley that’s been occupied by the beloved Caffe Venezia for the last 33 years has a taker. After Venezia bids farewell next month, new owner Joel DiGiorgio is planning to open a “California crafthouse” restaurant called Monarch Trading Co., specializing in craft beer, wine, pizza, and salads.
