This Friday, Matthew Kenney, the chef and owner of plant-based restaurant M.A.K.E. and the Matthew Kenney Culinary School at Santa Monica Place, will grand-open a new juice bar this Friday named M.A.K.E. Out. The chef will take advantage of the neighboring farmers market for this take-away concept, which will feature house-made kale chips, seaweed rye crackers, fennel almonds, and zaatar flax, plus desserts like chocolate truffles and macarons, and a selection of fresh juices, supplements, and smoothies.
Fresh ingredients are kept nutritious with the use of doohickeys like smokers and immersion circulators, crafted in juice flavors like the nine-dollar “Spice-C” made with pineapple, orange, jalapeno, and cilantro, and an eleven-dollar “Malted Chai” smoothie with coconut meat and water, banana, dates, cinnamon and maca.
