The Southwest Philly Floater, La Salle Explorers guard Tyrone Garland’s one-of-a-kind shot has been a cause for celebration around here since securing the hometown team’s victory over Ole Mississippi on Sunday, and propelling them into the NCAA’s sweet sixteen. And naturally, that excitement quickly spilled over into Philly’s eating and drinking culture. Now South Street’s Jet Wine Bar is getting in on the action, debuting a Southwest Philly Floater cocktail tonight just in time for the Explorer’s game against Wichita tonight. with a new cocktail inspired by Garland’s high-arching layup. The drink is a combination of gin, Blue Curacao and lemon juice with a Grand Marnier floater, and is available for one night only for $9. Of course the game will be on the bar’s giant TVs, too.
