Chicago’s hot Randolph Street corridor has officially been discovered by the beautiful people from New York. Actually that was probably true a year ago when this was announced, but it’s that much more true today with the announcement in Chicago Real Estate Daily that Nobu, the hot and much-touristed international restaurant chain part-owned by Robert De Niro and named for chef Nobu Matsuhisa, is looking at building a restaurant and boutique hotel on a vacant property at 846-854 W. Randolph. That stretch seems to be on its way to becoming a New York outpost in Chicago, as the Nobu plot is flanked on either side by the SoHo project and City Winery, another New York import. There are no other details as yet, in terms of size, projected opening date or anything else. [Chicago Real Estate Daily]
