Chicago’s hot Randolph Street corridor has officially been discovered by the beautiful people from New York. Actually that was probably true a year ago when this was announced, but it’s that much more true today with the announcement in Chicago Real Estate Daily that Nobu, the hot and much-touristed international restaurant chain part-owned by Robert De Niro and named for chef Nobu Matsuhisa, is looking at building a restaurant and boutique hotel on a vacant property at 846-854 W. Randolph. That stretch seems to be on its way to becoming a New York outpost in Chicago, as the Nobu plot is flanked on either side by the SoHo project and City Winery, another New York import.
