Community Board 1’s Tribeca Committee denied any consideration to a prospective liquor license application at 39 North Moore Street, where Mexican chef Enrique Olvera was hoping to open a “high end Mexican restaurant.” Though Olvera’s Mexico City restaurant Pujol is currently ranked 36 on S. Pellegrino’s World’s 50 Best list, the committee was unimpressed by representatives’ “lack of preparation for answering questions related to exhaust fumes, garbage disposal, and operating a restaurant with a residential unit to the back of the restaurant,” Tribeca Citizen reports.
