Crab Yard Takes La Rose Bistro Spot in Berkeley

The dormant space next to the U.C. Berkeley campus that was vacated by La Rose Bistro (2037 Shattuck Avenue) has turned into something called Crab Yard. The team behind it is Bo Wei Li, See Soo, and Yi Su, and they just put in an app for the liquor license this week. As Berkeleyside reported, it’s a gloves-and-paper-towels-style crab shack, with no utensils, and lots of crustacean.*

Lobster, crawfish and crab are priced seasonally, and you just order whichever you like with your choice of seasoning — lemon pepper, garlic and butter or both. There’s also shrimp, mussels, clams, and raw oysters are $10 for a half dozen, or $19 for a dozen. [Berkeleyside]
